Auto loan break down part 2 feb

Well since i sent an extra 61.55 this month to my debt, i figured it was time for another chart because the numbers keep depressing me...

I now need to find $2111.29 more to meet my original goal and be debt free by 08….

Spent some money yesterday

I know i "ended" February yesterday... transfered money between accounts, etc.... but i need a little update.

I got a haircut, 30 bucks with tip (for fantastic sams too... i get the extra length and thickness charge.... and leave with it dripping wet too!) I paid this with some of the extra basic necessities money from this month and last month.

I also went out to dinner with some of my friends last night after church... it was 13.50 and i paid for this with some extra grocery money from this month as well as a couple of months ago.

can't wait till wed when everything is hopefully posted and cleared!

meh 2

It took awhile (about an hour and half of cross refrencing)... but i figured everything out! all my accounts are pretty now.... and happy.... most got a bit more money for this past month then they expected.... much to their happiness. =D with the exception of buying gas, and paying for my auto maintance on monday.... Febuary is officially closed and done with for the month. All transfers and bills will be paid by WED... the last day of the month and i'll be all fresh for March.

While in the process of all of this, I've managed to move my Amazon CC to be paid out of electric orange from now on, my Household Cash back CC to be paid out of electric orange... and i've changed all my settings to paper statements too.... because This way i'll remind myself to amend my address when i move... and i'll be able to set up online payment through electric orange. My project for next month is to move my car payment to electric orange...

also, i'm now making my Zero at Bofa $375, with 125 in a savings account there....(500 total) I moved the 125 to my emergency fund/electric orange checking account because they upped the interest rate. My money needs to work for me. and i'm tired of figuring out the balance and adding money to it... subtracting money to it... it's a bit to crazy daisy for me.

Once i move my Bofa CC to be paid with Electric Orange.... (which now will send paper checks to companies that need to be paid with a check... woot) all i'll have with my bofa account is my direct deposit at work (so the account stays fee free),

----> The only reason I havn't killed the Bofa checking account ... is the convience of their atms (the bank is walking distance from my house right now)... the paper checks on hand... and that inorder to get all the keep the change stuff, i still need that account..... plus i've had that account forever and i might need paper checks as a renter.

I've decided that with the extra money from my taxes, i'm going to take 100 and get my bottom wisdom teeth removed. (once i get the cash i'm calling the dentist/ortho ppl) ... the rest i'll set aside for my vegas trip. Originally my excess fun money and half my extra gas money was set aside for vegas... but then an auto maintance check up and tags forced me to take back the gas money.... and now that i know the next main bill will be 200 something for the 25,000 mile check, I don't want to come up short.... and this way i won't have to worry about Vegas anymore because i'll have plenty. What ever is left after vegas... any any winnings i incure will be held on to for moving.... and after i'm moved in, if I havn't touched the cash, well then its going to the car.

okay i'm done with finance for today i'm wiped out. good thing its sunday at work, and were slow...

I'm thinking clean the gym, breakfast, then homework till the boss comes in and i take a lunch to go to church...

meh..

I'm trying to re-set all my accounts for next month, a mere 4 days away, but i'm finding this to be slightly difficult.

I'm waiting on a lot of things to clear and process (extra auto payments from tuition check... money moving through different accounts...)... so i can double check and make sure the paper math matches the account math and that all my balances are right.... but its proving impossible right now... on paper everything seems to make sense... but my checking account is a bit short right now.... from the $500 zero...... and its supposed to have more in it because i got paid from half.com...... but no... it's short for some reason and i have no idea how...

_____UPDATE____ (found my mistake!!!!!!!! I never deposited my mom's $75 v-day gift into bofa...., but took that money out of bofa..... the money ended up at an ing account instead... because i used part of the 74 for this month's offering.... but the offering money was actually in ING the whole time.... a balance transfer should fix it)

Oh, and i miscalculated... I have an auto appointment on monday because I did drive to the new maint check point on my car. My debt mobil now has 20,000 miles on it. (they kept telling me i needed the 25,000 mile check... again... but i kindly pointed out that my car only had 20,000 miles on it and that they need to update their computer because i don't drive as much as the "average joe") So its gonna cost me 70 bucks... not 210... which is good because i can take the $70 bucks out of this months gas and maint budget. but this also means that over the next few months, i need to store 200 bucks from un-used gas money...

I'm gonna look over the budget to make sure i haven't missed an expenditure....

I made a choice

Since i deposited my tuition refund today, i decide to send half the money to my car loan, and half the money to my moving out fund..

not sure what i'll do with the extra government refund.... i do have that vegas trip in may i'm supposed to be saving for....

amazon.com

So i took my Amazon giftcard and bought a knive set and a rice cooker for 14.87.

I wasn't going to get the rice cooker, even tho i wanted one.... but it was going to be 8 bucks in shipping without it... so i got it and free shipping on both items! (it was cheaper then the one in the store.)

Trying something new part deux

Putting everything on my CC this month was a good move overall. i did "earned" over 8 bucks with the cash back offered on the card (but i won't see the money till its over 25 so it's not being counted)... and if i would have paid cash, that money wouldn't have earned interest over at ING.... (which just raised their electric orange APR!!!)

looks like i found a new method to save a few bucks!

(and i've decided to buy a knives set with my amazon gift card!)

MONEY MONEY MONEY

I'm holding my refund from my college in my hand.... its more then i paid them....

It covers the 1500 in tuition, all my textbooks.... and I get an Extra 123.10!!!!!!!!!!!

I dunno If i should keep the $123.10 for moving out, or if i should keep it for school related purposes.... or if i should send it to my auto loan.... Any advice?

Oh and my refund from the feds.... WAY over the 600 i thought... were talking 930 at least... and another 100 ish back from state... (it cost me $45 to do my taxes.... so even if i round down... )

I just found an extra $400 from taxes, and 123.10 from tuition.... WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If i hadn't claimed me, i would have owed money..... but sadly i'm in the 15% tax bracket now... i used to be in the 10%......

Auto Loan Break Down

I've been avoiding this day for awhile... since i'm moving out and everything, this is what my auto payoff plan looks like... and i'm sad because it won't be paid off in 2007, with my current income. AUG 08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ouch
  • March: 6,345.89
  • April: 5,233.52
  • May: 4,113.50
  • June: 3,841.78
  • July: 3,568.19

  • May: 726.68
  • June: 431.67
  • July: 134.64
  • Aug: 0.00 [paying 135.57 the last month]

I can do this.... i just need to find 2,171.77 extra dollars....

I'm just gonna write the good stuff and hang on to denial... maybe not

It's been awhile since i've done a ying and yang post...

I sold another book on half.com but i have no idea when i'll get to the post office...

My sister is selling me some dishware real cheap because she doesn't like the design anymore.... i'm getting an 8 person set for $30 bucks... i have to find somewhere to put it....

I'm getting my taxes done today so I'll know what that refund will be.... but i forgot that i'm paying to get my taxes done... and i didn't budget paying to get them done for this month because i'm stupid.... i was going to hold on to some of my overtime for it... but i forgot all about it and sent 41 bucks to my auto loan... so now if i use my overtime to pay for it.... its the overtime from my moving out fund.... (i think i might borrow money from my "zero" at bofa because that money doesn't earn interest.... and when i get the refund, just subtract the costs.... ) but that still takes money away from moving out...

I'm gonna buy a knife set with my amazon giftcard from my other CC... my bank account isn't adding up right... which frusterates me... and stuff takes too dang long to post.

I have a roommate, but no place to move to... and i secreatly worry about her ability to make the rent payments each month... we need to find a place in the area where her half is around 600 for utilities and rent.... near impossibly but i got a few places to call.

boxes and duct tape

So, in an effort to help include my mom in my moving out process, (and because i'm too lazy and busy with everything... and she owed me a roll of duck tape....).... i asked her to see if she could find me some boxes over the next few weeks from her work... so I can start packing things i'm going to need when i leave.... and having a place to put some things i know i'll need to buy.

She more then delieverd... that same night....

She hit up the grocery stores, and places by the hardware store she bought the duct tape in. So woot for free boxes... and they gave her new ones that weren't dammaged either!

Plus linedancer's friend Rob is also going to save some from his work and he is also going to buy my desk top computer real cheap so that's one less thing to pack and i get some cash for it...

I'm also listing more books on half.com!

trying something new

Okay, in an effort to really test out ING ELECTRIC ORANGE, I went ahead and put the rest of my money for the month into that account (its not earning anything anything at bofa just sitting there) So 171.68 for gas; 45 for basic necessities; 44.50 of Fun; and 67.01 grocery

I will continue to put what i can on my Cash back CC, but at places like COSTCO, i can only use a debit card, so i'm going to try Using my Electric Orange Account. I'll earn interest on the money until its spent.

overtime...

I don't know if i should take whatever overtime i get (if any) and save it for moving out... Who knows what it's gonna really cost.... the place might not have a refrigerator... we might have to buy a washer and dryer.... microwave... extra parking space.... money to turn on utilities....

okay its official....

I'm only going to send half the overtime i get to my auto loan for now...
I'll use the other half to fund my emergence fund faster.

After the e-fund is 1,000 i'll continue putting half of anything extra aside for moving out. As we look at places and see what they offer (fridge, microwave... nothing) i'll re-evaluate later.

As for funding my vegas trip, I'm not sure how its going to work.... i'll hopefully be able to siphen off some fun money from each month for the trip... after that i can always go back to the half the left over gas stuff and not spend as much money.

The first week of June

It's no longer a viable option for me to continue living in my current place of residence. I'll be moving out a week after i'm done with this symester with Dee (and possibly her sister)...

So, Dee and I are gonna be hunting for a cheap little sucker... under $1200 a month for a 2 bed 2 bath place... I"ve got my fingers crossed and i'm hopeful... but not nieve, i'll probably be moving to lake forest, in an apartment, and well install good locks.

So, I'm now moving out the first week of june...

and my car won't be paid off by then, but i can still make it happen.... but i won't have a retirement fund.... for a while...........So how am I getting all the money to move out together in 3.5 months when my Moving fund has 70 bucks in it (and still be sending 1156 every month to my car up until i move)?

  • I'm liquidating part of my Emigrant Direct Retirement Fund... $1400.00 I can't bear to remove the money from the retirement sub account into my moving out account... so this will stay here until i actually move out.... in hopes that I won't have to use it... but i ran the numbers and it's the only way right now..... but I refuse to touch the interest and a few bucks of the principle
  • My tax return I did an online estimate, and i'm pretty sure that if i claim myself, i should be getting $600.00 back. This is because I wasn't originally going to claim myself, but my mom told me I could if I get more back.... this gives me $2,000 total so far.
  • My monthly savings right now its 70, and i'll have 3 more months... another 90. My emergency fund should be fully funded in April.... so i'll have 40 from April and 90 from May.
  • Extra Paycheck in March next month i'll be getting 3 paychecks... the extra one should be 800 dollars, and i'll put it toward moving out. Originally i was going to send it to the car to bump up the pay off date and end everything sooner... but not anymore.
If i take all that together,
  • i've got $3090 to move out with, a $1,000 emergency fund and $4,167.45 of debt by the end of may.

with school ending i'm going to try and find a part time job... anything i make there will go directly to my auto loan. My church has a summer program called kids club.... It's a nine hour work day, and if i can work there 2 days a week (tuesday and thursday, my only days off) then i'll probably make around 500 a month. I might try boarders books store or retail if i get desperate... which i will be if i can't work at Kids Club.

My new moving out budget has a $300.00 auto loan payment.... which means it would take a whole year longer (AUG of 08... to pay off my auto loan... paying 280 in interest after may 07... the interest is a lot lower since i'll be paying the majority of it off before i move out)... but if i get that summer job.... i'll dent it considerably more.

The new budget would look like this: Assuming pay of $1950 a month:
  • $600 Rent
  • $300 Utilities
  • $300 Auto Loan (500 more if i get that job)
  • $100 Car Insurance
  • $50 Cell phone
  • $200 Gas and Maint for Car
  • $150 Grocery/dinners out
  • $50 Basic Necessities
  • $50 Fun
  • $50 Renters insurance (an estimate)
  • $50 Long term savings/e-fund if it dips below $1,000
  • $50 Offering
  • $00 Retirement

Once the car is paid off, i'll be taking that 300 and bumping up the savings and offering. [Retirement =100; Offering =50 (100 total); Longterm/efund = 150 (200 total)

Now to update this month so far:

I need to move out sooner

My friend cancelled her birthday party... she has midterms and finals on Monday and apparently really needs to study to pick up her grades... while i'm slightly bummed about the party being cancelled... I won't have to pay the gas to get out there.... and back.... with the toll fees and then a nice dinner and then entertainment stuff.... So financially for my pocket, this is a good deal! And since I decided to go back to mexico again this Saturday, I can do it on a full nights sleep and not one in which i sleep in the car on the way up!

So far, so good on my new Cash back CC game i'm playing. After I make a purchase (using the card) I move that money into Electric Orange so by the time the bill comes, I can pay it directly from that account and i'll earn interest on money i've already spent!

My new debt level, BTW for my car is: $8,170.19 woot... which makes my last payment due in sept for $781.97... if i keepsending them 1156 a month

My mom and my sister got into a huge fight last night... a lot of yelling, and some physical violence... I'm pushing the move out plan..... to September if not earlier

So I talked to dee about moving out last night... She wants to stay in the area I want to (which is good) so were going to shoot for the end of the summer... Right now its september.

I'll probably need 3,000 to move out since its only dee and me ( 700 first, 700 last, 1,000 security deposit and 600 for appliances and fees to turn on electricity and stuff plus necessities like plates and cookware)

Which is do-able i believe if I by pass adding cash into my retirement account. By September's end I will have my car paid off (if not sooner) and i'll have $2746.28 (374.03 left over from re-paying my car, 492.04 from extra e-fund payments, 70.21 that i already have, 210 designed for moving out via the 30 a month.... and i'll have gotten both March and August floater paychecks approx 1600 total)

So by the end of september i'll have:
  • A 1,000 e-fund
  • a retirement account with about $1450.00 in it
  • 2746.28 to move out
  • and i should have enough cash to cover my last symester of college, and walk with my BA debt free....

Hopefully I can get a second job over the summer to help bump up the move date and my retirement balance.... I hate not putingt the money in there, but staying at home is not a sterling option.

I might revisit the budget again and see where i can cut out for sanity.

this weekend is going to be expensive

This weekend is going to be expensive...

My Greek Goddess friend is throwing a birthday party for her 21st... on friday.... but its out in the desert at linedancer's parents house.... which sounds fun.... a casino, nice dinner, and a party at heather's there after.

But i'm planning on going to mexico on saturday at 4:30am........ and i probably won't be leaving INDIO until 1:00am..... which means a lot of driving, a lot of gas... and linedancer's set on taking the toll roads there.....

So about 10 bucks in toll road fees up.... (i'm not taking it on the way home... no one will be on the road at 2am) plus gas both ways.... eeeekkkk.... then we have dinner out there.... plus i still need to get her a birthday present....

meh.... lots of caffine will be consumed on this little trip that's for sure.

More financial info updates:

as everything is starting to clear this week in all my accounts, i'm glad to say that i think my account "zero" is where it should be... woot!

i officially can't wait till March.... It's the first month where i get an extra paycheck! which be sent to my car

I got all my tax info and i'm calling my tax ppl today so that I can get it done and hopefully get a refund check soon... and maybe cash from my mom

and my mom might have a few projects around the house for me to do to make a little extra cash... so i'll keep you posted on those... its altering a pair of jeans and possibly demolishing our patio cover/awning thing

paycheck... and an IF

I haven't seen my pay-stub yet, but I took home $1,016.97. (i hate not working very much overtime.... I want to see my debt go away already!!!) From this paycheck, i'm sending $456.00 to my auto loan +50.97 "overtime" (if its over $966... its overtime since i'm not getting a 6-month raise... found out yesterday) and i have $2.96 extra from my cell phone bill i'm sending that way as well. Next paycheck i'll send $700.00 plus anything extra IF i have anything on it.... which i should because i have to go to a seminar wed, which lasts 4 hours longer then my work day.... so i'll be paid overtime after 1:00pm....

but on to my "IF" I have extra money on my next paycheck.......... I currently have no idea what my account zero is... no freeeking clue... and after my almost exceeding my CC limit the other day... i'm a bit worried. With all my sub accounts, and paying for my school, and books, and everything else.... its just a bunch of pending information and its killing me!

My new CC came in the mail and i'm going to charge everything I can on it to help have less stuff pending in my main checking account... incase my zero is a little smaller then i hope. I used it to buy groceries and to pick blake up dinner last night (which he paid me back for already this time... and i'll deposit that money today =D)... I'm going to move the money for these purchases into my ING Electric checking so i can earn some interest off the money i've already spent while i wait for the bill to come...

I hate not knowing what my account "zero" really is... it should be $500.00 but when i do the math, it seems to be hitting the $400.00 marker... and i need to know how much is there because i need to pay my auto tags soon!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH But on the good side... i found the money to pay for my tags without robbing my efund.

i have 97 dollars in my auto tags fund from extra gas money and about 60 in my vegas fund. I'm going to use these amounts to foot the bill because the maint/check up on my car will probably be more like next month and not this month when i look at the current mileage on my "debt machine" (my car). I"ll pay this mid feb.... i can't stand to have another thing "pending" right now... then i'll just be a bit more frugal this month and try and put the 60 bucks back toward vegas.... if not...welll less vegas money then.
