South County Girl: August Spending

I'm proud of our August budget. We only spent $50 on eating out and only had a small number of items in our "other" category! We had to spend a ton on Eli this month because we needed to stock the daycare house with formula, wipes, and other items for his stay on top of re-stocking our home up. (We weren't going to pass up a $20 gift card for buying $50 worth of diapers) so we expect to spend less in September for sure since we probably won't need diapers this month. Since we seem to have a cheap month and then an expensive baby month, I think we will roll over any unused baby funds to the next month so we can take advantage of sweet deals like the diaper one without having to cut other expenses down.

Our eating our was so low because we have one "date" and it wasn't a date at that. I picked up Inn-in out on the way home from work. The rest was SCB getting fast food on Saturdays when he watched Eli and ran errands when I work. September should be higher since my mom will finally watch him for a few hours at our place on labor day so we can have a break. We used to get a break once a month when my sister would come and pick him up for a few hours, but then she showed up drunk at my home randomly after getting in a fight with my mom one night and I had to sober her up while she called me names and tried to hold my son.... so we haven't let her watch him since at her place which means we haven't had any alone time in 2 months. I kind of had to beg my mom but she agreed to watch him for a few hours and we are looking forward to it immensely.
